SYMPTOMS
When you try to log on to a computer on which Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, XP Professional or Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition has been installed, you receive a message indicating that the grace period has expired and that you must activate Windows XP now. When you click Yes to activate the product, you are logged off and the logon prompt appears. When you click No to activate the product, you are logged off and the logon prompt appears. When you click Cancel the system shuts down.

Notes:
I performed this on my Windows 2003 Enterprise server.  I had a hard drive failure that took out the entire mirrored system disk.  After I restored the system from back up I received the above dialog saying reactivation was required.  After I followed the above steps, my system was up, running, and intact.
