Super Size Me is a movie about Morgan Spurlock’s experiment to eat nothing but McDonald food three times a day for thirty days straight. Difficult, stomach wrenching or the dream of almost ever eight-year-old child, I think all of the above.
The experiment uncovered some very interesting health concerns revolving around eating a high fat diet.
1. Gains 25 pounds
2. Experiences an extreme increase in cholesterol
3. Suffers sexual dysfunction, headaches, and nausea
4. Shows signs of addiction
5. Ingested 30 pounds of sugar
6. Took in 12 pounds of fat
7. Impacted his sex life
8. Ate 5000 calories a day
9. Turned his liver to fat
After the experiment was over it took him eight weeks to get his liver, cholesterol and other blood levels back to normal. It took him 5 months to lose 20.5 pounds and another 9 months to look the last 4.5 pounds. Morgan enlisted not one but four doctors to watch over him during this experiment. They were telling him to stop the diet after less than two weeks.
Sure, this movie has many critics but, just look at the results. Even if you are not convinced, take a second look at what you are putting on your body. It just may save your life.
