The film provokes a roller coaster ride of emotions. Superbly written and acted, it manages to deftly handle controversial themes such as racism, death, despair, ambition and redemption without ever becoming maudlin or boring. It is a haunting film with a fabulous soundtrack that begs to be watched more than once. All of the characters are connected in the end, but in such a subtle manner that one does not see the connections coming.
